Great job, as a quick summary for all; at the Wisconsin regional, we competed against 60 robots and finished up 50^th.  We did not do as well as we would have liked but the competition was stiff out there.

Now that we are back, we need to unload the trailer to the M&M plaza today at 4:00 pm and our robot should arrive back in Marinette on Wednesday.

The Drive Team and Pit Crew are leaving from the NWTC tomorrow at 5:00 A.M. SHARP. Try to be there 5-10 minutes early.

When you are on site at the Competition, here are some of the rules we have to follow (this is also from the above link):

-Site Restrictions-
Please read the following restrictions and adhere to them in order to promote an orderly, safe, pleasant, and exciting competition. As a group, we all should honor agreements with the venue and help promote the spirit of good partnership.

Please:

1. Do not bring food on the site. If you bring food, do not bring it onto the property.

2. Do not use noisy devices, such as any type of floor stompers, whistles, or air horns.

3. Do not save seats. It is not fair to other teams or to the public guests we hope to interests team sponsors or volunteers.

4. Do not ship robots directly to the site. All shipments go through the Drayage
Company.

5. Do not arrange for Internet access on the site or bring free phone lines for same.

6. Do not sell any products. This includes food, hats, shirts, or any promotional products.

7. Do not give out any free food products, such as candy, water, soft drinks, or fruit. You may trade team pins, however.

8. Do not use helium tanks.

9. Do not bring live bands to play in the audience. This dilutes the presentation on the playing field and is too loud and confusing for the audience.

10. Do not play loud music in the Pit because it interferes with important announcements. If a team receives more than a warning or two, the power to the team’s Pit Station will be shut off and/or the music confiscated.

11. Do not run in the venue.

12. Open-toed shoes are not allowed.

This is the last weekend before our competition in Milwaukee.

Below is an e-mail from the Wisconsin planning Committee with some important information about the regional!   I will need a completed FIRST consent form, so our team can register.  Stop my the M&M plaza to pick up a form or print one off from www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=8128

As a reminder we are meeting this Saturday 9:00am -1:00pm at both the M&M Plaza and at NWTC. At NWTC we need help in cutting medallions; at the M&M Plaza we will be doing some driving practice.

We have last year’s robot driving just like this year, and the record for one lap so far is 16.1 sec held by Jeremy.

We will be meeting tonight 4:30 -6:30 to practice driving and pre-stage the pit design.

Don’t forget Tue next week 11March the Marquette TV station will be at the M&M Plaza to interview student and film the robot running around the field.

On Thursday 13 March we will be departing from the back parking lot of NWTC at 0500am sharp to make it down to Milwaukee by 0800. I will need to have all the consent forms filled so our team can register.

This time next week we will be loading up the trailer and very early Thursday morning next week 13 March we will be on the road to Milwaukee.

Yesterday we had a little set back, in that during some practice driving we burned up gear box on last years robot. We have a spare gear box that Victor put together last week so we can mount that last years robot to get it back running. This evening, lets focus on getting the spare gear box on last year robot and getting the robot program to run with two CIM motor on both sides.

Also our web site has been updated with new pictures (thanks Sara).

The last few items are in preparation for the Milwaukee event, I will need FIRST consent forms fill out and signed by your parents if necessary.

Stop by the M&M plaza to pick up the consent forms this week.

Great job yesterday! We got the lifting skis installed and both sections of the fork lift assembled. All that’s left on the fork lift is the fork design welded up and the motor and chain assembles installed. We still need to install some limit switches for the lifting skis, and print out some logos to go on the Plexiglas armament. Also, we weighed in yesterday and the robot weighed 100lbs minus the forklift motor and chains. I think we will be with-in the 120lb limit, but we really need to get the complete robot and then weigh-in again.

During the Open house on Saturday, we are ready to run around the track and if we can get the scope motor programmed we should be able to pick up a ball. Much thanks to Austin in welding up all those section of the skis, and to Hank and Andrew for tapping the hole in the fork lift plates, and John and Jerrid in mounting up the lifting motor and hinge assembly, and prepping the bumper for assembly.  In addition to all this Casey is finishing up the catapult design and was able to demo his full scale capture loop.

As a reminder, we are meeting this Saturday 9-1 starting at NWTC and we will need help setting up and moving robots over to the M&M Mall.

The open house will be at the M&M Mall from 11-1 for parents/friends/colleagues.
